“Though I am gone, I urge you to answer the highest calling of your heart and stand up for what you truly believe.” – John Lewis

“We covenant to affirm and promote journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.” – Proposed UUA 8th Principle

We endorse the spirit of the 8th Principle being developed by the UUA, committing ourselves to work together for diversity and against racism and oppressions of all kinds.” – First Universalist’s commitment to supporting the 8th principle.

Inspired by events of 2020 and Ibram X. Kendi’s book, How to Be an Antiracist, we created our Anti-racism Working Group, dedicated to dismantling racism in ourselves and our institutions. We provide educational opportunities for congregants, and facilitate actions furthering racial equity.
