First Tuesdays in Action programs are currently on hold due to COVID-19. Preble Street Resource Center is still in need of volunteers to pack dinners for distribution.

What is First Tuesdays in Action?

First Tuesdays are all about putting your faith into action! How? By participating in justice-making activities like:

  • crafting dog and cat toys for a local animal shelter
  • collecting and sorting donations for free clothing closets
  • arranging flower baskets for a local nursing home
  • creating children’s toys for low income families
  • putting together art supply kits for homeless children and teens
  • building and planting a garden and donating the produce to the food pantry

People of all ages can live their values through these types of justice-making activities at First Universalist while adults and teens can opt to volunteer at Preble Street.

ALL AGES WELCOME: Children ages 5+ and youth can participate by themselves (adult program leaders and teen assistants available for childcare and program facilitation; adults and teens follow safe congregation policies, including background checks). For children under 5, please bring an adult caregiver with you to participate. Please drop in for part of the time or stay for the whole afternoon/evening!
