Year-round Fundraisers

Hannaford Cards

grocery-store-shopping.jpgYou too can support our church with your Hannaford shopping it is easier than ever! Join with the 30 church families already participating in this great program. Hannaford donates 5% of whatever you put on your Hannaford cash card (and you still have 100% of what you put on the card). Do you have more than one family member who shops at Hannaford? They can EACH have a card!

We order and reload Hannaford cards TWICE a month – 1st Sunday AND 3rd Sunday of each month! We have Hannaford cards right here on hand to get you started! See Dorothy on Sundays or email office@uuyarmouth.org and your inquiry will be forwarded to Dorothy.

checkbookYou can now pay for your Hannaford card reload online: Reload. Checks are made out to ‘First Universalist Church’ for the amount you would like to add to your card ($500 max balance per card; no minimum). In the check memo area please put the last 5 digits of the card number (and your email address for first-time buyers). Checks can be mailed to the church or brought to the office by the Saturday before the order is due. Last year the church received over $4,500 from Hannaford for the groceries we purchased; thanks to everyone who’s participating!

Joy and Justice Fundraisers

Our Joy and Justice fundraisers are wide open to the greater Yarmouth community (and beyond).
We give 100% of the ticket price to selected non-profit organizations aligned with our values.
For example, in 2021 we gave over $6,500 to the New Mainer Garden and the Wabanaki Garden
projects of the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust. We are open to new event ideas and recipient suggestions.

Evergreen Holiday Fair

pinecone-christmas-decorations.jpgThe town of Yarmouth begins the month of December with festivities, food, and shopping, hosted by local churches and non-profits. At First Universalist, we are famous for our hot soup and bread lunches. We have several tables where we sell crafts, baked goods, and jams, jellies, and pickles, and a popular Second Time Around sale.

Our church community makes and organizes the fair.  We welcome new items, suggestions, and help with lots of preparations as well as working the day of the fair.

Maine Farm Suppers

farm supper food feb 2016On a seasonal basis, we work together to create big, beautiful Maine Farm Suppers from locally-sourced healthy foods and invite the wider community to join us for dinner. Maine Farm Suppers are a fresh, delicious expression of our UU principles, and echo the spirit of our beloved Bean Suppers.

Other Fundraisers

heart in hand logoOccasionally we create special fundraisers, for example for building
improvements, initiating a new program (e.g. converting our former
Parsonage to a rooming house for New Mainers), or launching a capital
campaign. These events often include a special food event, such as our
Heart in Hand Gala and Auction.

The Heart in Hand Gala’s plated dinner service is highly anticipated by those who have attended in the past. The exciting live auction provides attendees with the opportunity to bid on catered
parties, weekend getaways, summer boat cruises, and other fabulous events.
