At First Universalist, we are committed to encouraging the spiritual growth and development of children. We have trained, professional staff facilitating our children’s programming in order to provide high-quality experiences and allow for parents and caregivers to explore their own beliefs during adult faith conversations and worship services.

To enroll your child in the religious exploration program at First Universalist, please complete this form and submit it to the church office: RE Registration Form 2017-2018

Every Sunday

Children’s Chapel

Sundays at 10:30 am
Children and their parents begin Sunday mornings together in the Sanctuary for the beginning of worship service. Children are then “sung out” to participate in Children’s Chapel. Joining other children on Sunday mornings, can help your child to create friendships and explore the same worship and religious education themes in which the adults are finding inspiration. A mix of stories, games, celebrations, shared snack, activities and group discussion allows all children to chime in with their big questions and helps them to find their own answers. Our Children’s Religious Education program is staffed with professional teachers who love to teach.

The Nursery

Sundays at 10:30 am
Our Nursery is a safe and inviting place for our youngest friends and members to play on Sunday mornings, and during all major church events. Children who are too young for our RE Program are cared for by CPR certified teens who are members of our Youth Groups. While we are happy to have babies and toddlers in our worship service with the adults, the Nursery usually turns out to be too fun to resist!

Children’s Tea & Games

first Sunday of the month at 11:45 am
Children of all ages are welcomed to share a snack and play games after worship. Knowing that children use play to try out different identities, ways to behave, and how to navigate our world, children are invited to play a variety of games that are infused with Unitarian Universalists principles, involve cooperation and team-building, and are just plain fun.

UU Games

Two Sundays per month at 9:30 am
Lead by our Red Cross certified senior youth group members, children are invited to play a variety of cooperative, team building, and just plain fun games on the first and third Sundays of the month.

Multigenerational Events

Families are invited to participate in many multigenerational events that are hosted during the church year. From all ages worships to special dinners to social justice events, children and families are active participants.
