COME SEE ME IN THE GOOD LIGHT

Wednesday, January 28, at 5:30 pm, in the Gathering Room

All are warmly welcome to come for pizza* & movie night about poets Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley who faced an incurable cancer diagnosis with love, humor, and honesty. Bring your hankies. We’ll hang out and probably hug a little after the movie, but we’ll save a longer discussion about such challenges for the following Sunday (please save the date for the film discussion on Sunday, 2/1). *Please RSVP so we have enough pizza, and yes, thanks, donations are welcome!

CIRCLE IN WORKSHOP

Saturday, March 7, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, held in the Gathering Room

Would you like some practical advice about how to have more productive conversations? How about some useful tips about how to solve problems collaboratively with your family, friends or church groups? Adult RE is sponsoring a workshop to explore and practice just these skills!  Facilitator and parent educator Marjie Longshore from the Family Leadership Center has created a collaborative game called Circle In! to help families share concerns and deliberate upon solutions. While originally designed for families, this brilliant resource is broadly applicable to any group of people concerned with building more equitable, honest and authentic relationships with the people they live with, work with or worship with. Please join us for a fun-filled and hands-on workshop!

Monthly Recurring Events: September – June

Vespers – First Wednesday of each Month, 7:00 – 7:30 pm

  • Wednesday evening vespers services are held on Zoom and led by Rev. Hillary or lay leaders. These services are a time for meditation, reflection, and candles of joys and sorrows. Vespers services are followed by an optional time of fellowship from 7:30 – 8:00 pm. You can receive the Zoom link by signing up to receive our newsletter or contacting the church office.

Soul Matters Theme Discussions – Second Sunday of each Month, 11:45 am – 12:30 pm

  • Come discuss the Soul Matters theme of the month with Rev. Hillary. Grab some coffee or tea and then join Rev. Hillary after the service for a lively, welcoming, inclusive discussion.

Lectio Divina – Fourth Tuesday of each Month, 8:30 – 9:30 am

  • Lectio Divina is Latin for “Divine Reading.” It is an age old spiritual practice to discover and engage deeper meaning in readings we hold sacred – be they scripture, poetry, literature, or lyrics. Traditionally Lectio Divina has four parts – reading, reflection, response, rest. During our Lectio Divina gatherings, Rev. Hillary will offer a short text for those gathered to read, ponder, and speak about thoughtfully, noticing ways that the text fortifies, challenges, and comforts us. All are welcome to bring your coffee and tea and join us in this enlivening and centering spiritual practice.
